Forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning paced No. 20 Washington with a season-high 30 points and nine rebounds in an 88-75 Pac-10 win over Arizona State on Saturday at Bank of America Arena in Seattle.
Isaiah Thomas added 19 points and eight assists as Washington (15-4, 7-1 Pac-10) picked up its ninth win in 10 tries, though the Huskies got all they could handle from the Sun Devils. Arizona State used dead-eye shooting to stay in the game, pulling to within two points with 4:10 left in the second half.
Arizona State started the game shooting 62 percent from behind the 3-point arc in the first half and taking a six-point lead with 4:15 left on a 3-pointer by Rihards Kuksiks. Bryan-Amaning and Thomas sparked a 13-6 run to give Washington a 40-39 halftime lead it wouldn’t relinquish.
Ty Abbott and Trent Lockett scored 20 points each to lead Arizona State (9-10, 1-6), which has lost five of its last six games.
