Heat 103, Spurs 84: Mario Chalmers scored 19 points and LeBron James had 17 points, eight rebounds and seven assists as host Miami routed San Antonio to even the NBA Finals at one game apiece.
The Heat blew the game open with a 33-5 run over an eight-minute span that turned a 62-61 third-quarter deficit into a commanding 27-point lead. Ray Allen added 13 points and Chris Bosh contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Danny Green scored 17 points and hit all five of his 3-point attempts during a 6-for-6 shooting performance while Tony Parker added 13 points for the Spurs. Game 3 is Tuesday in San Antonio.
Miami led by eight early in the second half but San Antonio used a 16-7 third-quarter spurt to take the one-point edge. A three-point play by Chalmers started the surge, and he converted another one in the final seconds of the quarter to allow the Heat to take a 75-65 lead into the fourth.
The onslaught continued in the final stanza as Miami scored 19 of the first 21 points. James hit a 3-pointer to make it 94-67 with 7:13 left and the Spurs emptied the bench to concede the Heat's victory.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami was 10-of-19 from 3-point range with Allen and Mike Miller each draining three. The Spurs were 10-for-20 … San Antonio committed 17 turnovers after tying the NBA Finals record with just four in Game 1. … James hit all four of his fourth-quarter shots just after being 3-for-13 entering the final stanza.
