Nebraska 61, Tulane 57: Ray Gallegos hit four 3-pointers en route to 14 points as the Cornhuskers held off the visiting Green Wave.
Dylan Talley also had 14, Brandon Ubel added 12 points and Andre Almeida chipped in 10 for Nebraska (4-0), which went 10-of-19 from 3-point range to stay perfect under first-year coach Tim Miles.
Josh Davis scored 19 points and Jordan Callahan had 16 for Tulane (3-2), which missed its final six field-goal attempts and committed four turnovers in the final 6:08.
Nebraska took a 33-28 lead into the break but the Green Wave refused to let the game slip away in the second half. Tulane used an 8-0 run to take a 40-39 lead with 16:33 left and went back and forth with the Cornhuskers until the final minutes.
Tomas Bruha’s jumper gave the Green Wave a 55-52 lead with 7:02 left but they would not make another field goal the rest of the way. Callahan had a chance to grab the lead back with 1:05 left but missed all three free throws after being fouled beyond the arc.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Tulane G Ricky Tarrant, who came in averaging 17.5 points, was held to eight on 3-of-12 shooting. … Gallegos went 2-of-11 from 3-point range in Nebraska’s last game but is a combined 10-of-18 in his other three starts. … The Cornhuskers will try to keep their perfect record alive against Kent State on Saturday.
