UTAH 58, STANFORD 57: Chris Hines hit a 3-pointer with 26 seconds left, and the Cardinal's Josh Owens missed a game-tying free throw as the host Utes snapped an eight-game losing streak.

After Dwight Powell gave Stanford (19-10, 9-8 Pac-12) a 56-55 lead with 41 seconds left, Hines answered with a 3-pointer that proved to be the eventual game winner. Owens made his first free throw with eight seconds left before missing his second shot.

Hines scored 19 points, including five 3-pointers, and the Utes shot 7 of 12 (58.3 percent) from beyond the arc.

Jason Washburn had 17 points, six blocked shots and five boards for Utah (6-22, 3-13), which lost 68-65 at Stanford on Jan. 12. Dijon Farr had 12 points and grabbed six rebounds for Utah.

Chasson Randle, whose 3-pointer at the buzzer fell short, made five of his 10 3-point attempts and scored a team-high 19 points for Stanford. Anthony Brown and Owens added 11 points apiece.

GAME NOTEBOOK: After shooting 9 of 18 from 3-point range against Colorado on Thursday, Stanford was just 6 of 21 against the Utes. … Over the last four seasons, the Cardinal are 9-27 on the road in conference play. … Hines has scored in double digits in five straight games and nine times in the last 10 games. ... After shooting 21 free throws in the last three games combined, Utah made 17 of 21 against Stanford.
