Jorge Brian Diaz led the way with 16 points and five rebounds as Nebraska upset No. 11 Texas A&M, 57-48, in Lincoln, Neb., on Saturday.
Lance Jeter added 10 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Cornhuskers (15-5, 3-3 Big 12), who took another step toward an NCAA Tournament berth with their first win over a ranked opponent.
The Aggies controlled the opening half, closing on a 15-8 run to take a 31-24 lead into the break.
But the second half belonged to Nebraska, which opened the final 20 minutes with a 15-6 burst to take the lead. Texas A&M briefly went back on top with five straight points, but Jeter scored six points during a 10-1 spurt that put the Cornhuskers in the lead for good.
Nebraska would end up outscoring the Aggies 33-17 in the second half.
Nathan Walkup scored 13 points and Khris Middleton reached 12. They were the only players in double figures for Texas A&M (17-3, 4-2 Big 12), which turned the ball over 14 times and shot just 6 of 14 from the free throw line in suffering its second loss in the last three games.
