Alabama knocked off Mississippi State 75-57 Saturday at Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville, Miss. The Crimson Tide had lost seven of their previous 10 games in the series but took advantage of a Mississippi State lineup that has seen some recent turnover.
The Bulldogs (8-7, 0-1) received an excellent performance from point guard Dee Bost, who was academically ineligible for the fall semester and served a nine-game suspension. Saturday was his first game back. Bost provided a team-high 14 points in 33 minutes.
Time off limited his teammate Renardo Sidney, who returned from suspension after fighting with former Bulldog Elgin Bailey. Sidney had five turnovers and finished with two points on 1-of-8 shooting in 26 minutes.
Crimson Tide forward JaMychal Green didn’t have any trouble in his return from suspension. He collected 16 points on 7 of 16 shooting, finishing one point behind Trevor Releford’s team-high 17.
Alabama (9-6, 1-0) is on a four-game winning streak.
