Mike Singletary scored 16 points as Texas Tech snapped a three-game losing streak with a 73-56 home victory over Texas-Arlington.

The Red Raiders (6-6) shot just 36.8 percent (21-of-57), but hit six 3-pointers and made 25-of-35 free throws to win for the first time since Nov. 30.

It took a while for Texas Tech to get going. LaMarcus Reed gave the Mavericks a 13-12 lead on a 3-pointer with 9:18 left in the first half. But the Red Raiders outscored Texas-Arlington 25-11 to take a 37-24 halftime lead.

Texas Tech scored the first seven points of the second half, pushing the lead to 44-24 on two Brad Reese free throws three minutes into the half. Texas-Arlington pulled within 12 before pushing the lead back to 20 points late in the game.

Singleton went 12-of-15 from the free-throw line, Reese added 15 points and Robert Lewandowski scored 12 for the Red Raiders.

Bradley Gay scored 14 points for the Mavericks (5-5), who lost their fourth in a row.

The Red Raiders play host to New Mexico on Dec. 29. Texas-Arlington plays at No. 3 Kansas on Dec. 29.
