Chad Gray scored six of his 22 points in overtime as Coastal Carolina came from behind to defeat Louisiana State 78-69 Monday.
Desmond Holloway added 18 points and Mike Holmes finished with 14 for the Chanticleers (8-2), who dominated on the glass, 41-30.
LSU (6-3) shot out to a 9-0 lead and was up 15-6 before Coastal Carolina began to creep back. The Chanticleers cut it to a one-point deficit, before the Tigers went on another run and pulled into the half with a 35-30 edge thanks to 54 percent shooting in the first 20 minutes.
LSU could not keep up that pace after the break, and Coastal Carolina took advantage. Holloway scored eight straight points and Gray added another eight as the Chanticleers overtook the Tigers, building a 50-41 lead nine minutes into the second half.
The Tigers would come back to force overtime, but Coastal Carolina dominated the extra session.
