Kemba Walker posted the first triple-double of his career with 24 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists as No. 9 Connecticut rolled over Maryland-Baltimore County 94-61 on Friday.
Freshman Jeremy Lamb finished with a career-high 12 points for the Huskies (7-0), who bounced back from a lackluster performance in a win over New Hampshire earlier in the week.
Walker had 12 points and nine boards at the half as Connecticut took a 44-32 lead. The Huskies shot 58 percent before the break and took control right from the tap, jumping out to an 11-2 lead in the first three minutes as Walker provided the first six points of the game for UConn.
Coming off a win at the Maui Invitational in which they knocked off a pair of top-10 teams, the Huskies looked sluggish at home against New Hampshire on Tuesday, needing 30 points from Walker to pull out a 62-55 victory. But the explosiveness was back on Friday as UConn put six different players in double figures.
Travis King finished with 14 points to lead the Retrievers (0-7).
