A roundtable of contributions helped Oklahoma State to a season-opening win over the Houston Baptist on Saturday.
The Cowboys won 86-73 over the Huskies at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Okla. It was their 36th-consecutive season-opening win at home and 1,498th win in regular-season history.
Oklahoma State was led by the quartet of Keiton Page, Nick Sidorakis, Marshall Moses and Jean-Paul Olukemi. The Cowboys will need contributions from multiple players after losing James Anderson, last year’s Big 12 Player of the Year.
Moses led with 17 points, but the other three all scored between 13 and 16 points.
Houston Baptist kept the score close early. The game was tied at 10 with 13:09 left in the first half before the Cowboys went on a 9-3 run. The Huskies battled back, bringing the game within 23-21 with 7:30 remaining. Oklahoma State, however, went on an 18-7 run to end the half.
Houston Baptist managed to draw within 68-60 with 6:42 remaining in the game, but the Cowboys pulled away on foul shots.
