Mississippi 75, South Carolina 71: Jarvis Summers scored eight of his 15 points in the final four minutes as the host Rebels rallied to earn the SEC win over the Gamecocks.
Marshall Henderson led Mississippi (15-6, 6-2 SEC) with 21 points while Summers added eight assists to his scoring total. LaDarius White had 12 points and Aaron Jones chipped in with 11.
Brenton Williams scored a game-high 23 points for South Carolina (8-13, 1-7), which shot 7-of-15 beyond the arc. Sindarius Thornwell had 20 points, six assists and five rebounds for the Gamecocks while Duane Notice added nine points.
The game was close throughout the first half, with neither team able to build a double-digit lead. Mississippi was up four with 5:40 to play before South Carolina closed on a 15-6 run to take a five-point halftime advantage.
The Gamecocks held the lead for much of the second half, holding a 15-point advantage with just under 10 minutes to play. But the Rebels rallied, going on a 21-5 run that was capped by a Summers 3-pointer that gave Mississippi its first lead of the half, then pulling ahead for good on Summers' jumper with 2:19 to go.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Rebels won despite shooting just 6-of-19 from 3-point range. … South Carolina held a 38-28 edge on the boards, led by F Michael Carrera's season high-tying 11. … The Gamecocks were hurt by 18 turnovers, compared to just nine for the Rebels.
