No. 24 Minnesota 84, Nebraska 65: Senior forward Rodney Williams led the way with 23 points as the Golden Gophers knocked off the visiting Cornhuskers to avoid losing their fifth straight game.
Sophomore guard Andre Hollins contributed 14 points and junior guard Austin Hollins recorded 13. Both teams shot better than 54 percent from the floor.
Nebraska was paced by junior guard Ray Gallegos, who scored a season-high 30 off 6-for-10 shooting from deep. Senior forward Brandon Ubel knocked down 6 of 7 shots to finish with 13 points, while freshman guard Shavon Shields chipped in 10.
Minnesota led 23-8 eight minutes into the game, but by halftime, Nebraska had pulled to within nine. The Cornhuskers scored only two points over a five-minute span in the second half, and the Golden Gophers rebuilt a comfortable lead.
Minnesota manhandled Nebraska in the paint 44-16. The Golden Gophers also cleaned up on the glass 36-19.
