Kyler Murray accounted for 411 total yards and two touchdowns to lead the Arizona Cardinals to a 30-10 victory over the winless New York Jets on Sunday afternoon in East Rutherford, N.J.
The Cardinals (3-2) built a 14-point lead late in the first half, then emphatically answered a brief second-half push by the Jets (0-5).
The Jets got within one score when Joe Flacco found Jamison Crowder for a diving, 11-yard touchdown to cut Arizona's lead to 17-10 at the 5:51 mark of the third quarter.
But the Cardinals responded with a 10-play, 70-yard drive, which included a gutsy fourth-and-1 call from their own 39 that resulted in a 31-yard pass to Darrell Daniels and a 1-yard touchdown run by Kenyan Drake.
Later, DeAndre Hopkins hauled in a spectacular, one-handed 37-yard touchdown catch to extend Arizona's lead to 30-10 with 8:42 to play.
Murray's 380 passing yards were a career high. Hopkins was his top target, finishing with six catches for 131 yards. Hopkins also became the fourth-youngest player to eclipse 9,000 career receiving yards in NFL history (28 years, 127 days).
Flacco, who started in place of the injured Sam Darnold, completed 18 of 33 passes for 195 yards and zero interceptions.
Arizona struck first with an efficient eight-play, 89-yard drive capped when Chase Edmonds broke through the middle of the defense for a 29-yard touchdown with 7:33 to play in the first quarter.
The Jets squandered two red-zone opportunities in the second quarter. They were stuffed on third-and-1 and fourth-and-1 from the Arizona 13-yard line, and later settled for a 26-yard Sam Ficken field goal after an Avery Williamson interception return gave them possession at the Cardinals' 10-yard line.
Arizona took advantage on their ensuing drive. Murray finished a 75-yard drive with a 2-yard touchdown run to put Arizona up 14-3 with 2:41 remaining in the second quarter. Zane Gonzalez added a 47-yard field goal with three seconds to play before halftime.
Cardinals Pro Bowl linebacker Chandler Jones (biceps) and rookie defensive tackle Rashard Lawrence (calf) left the game and did not return.
Jets receiver Chris Hogan left on a cart in the fourth quarter after taking a big hit following a catch.
