Sherrod Martin intercepted a deflected pass in the back of the end zone in the final minute, and the Carolina Panthers snapped a three-game losing streak by holding off a fourth-quarter rally from the winless Indianapolis Colts for a 27-19 road win Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
After allowing Detroit to score two touchdowns in the final 2:32 of a 49-35 loss a week earlier, the Panthers (3-8) nearly had another late collapse before ending a franchise-worse 12-game road losing streak.
The Colts (0-11) made a late charge to get within 27-19 and were driving again before Chris Gamble intercepted a Curtis Painter pass in the end zone. Indianapolis again drove deep into Panthers' territory, but Martin's interception on second-and-goal from the 3 sealed the win.
Carolina's DeAngelo Williams had two rushing touchdowns for the first time in more than two years. The last time was Nov. 8, 2009, at New Orleans.
Panthers quarterback Cam Newton also had a rushing score, his 10th of the season, extending his record for the most by a rookie quarterback since the NFL merger in 1970.
The Colts inducted wide receiver Marvin Harrison into their ring of honor during a halftime ceremony.
