Tom Brady threw three touchdown passes and the New England Patriots forced seven turnovers en route to wrapping up the No. 1 seed in the AFC by dominating the Buffalo Bills 34-3 on Sunday.
Rob Gronkowski caught a pair of touchdown passes and Alge Crumpler caught another for the Patriots (13-2), who clinched the AFC East title and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. New England has won seven in a row.
Buffalo actually held an early lead, driving easily down the field for a field goal on their first possession. But Danny Woodhead’s 29-yard touchdown run six minutes later put New England on top for good.
Brady turned the Bills’ first three turnovers into touchdowns and broke Bernie Kosar’s NFL record of 308 consecutive pass attempts without an interception early in the third quarter.
Brady continued to state his case for league MVP, improving his overall numbers to 34 touchdowns and just four interceptions on the season. New England has not turned the ball over in the last seven games and has committed just nine giveaways on the season.
Patrick Chung, Dane Fletcher and Jarrad Page each intercepted Buffalo quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who finished 18 of 37 for 251 yards as the Bills (4-11) had their two-game winning streak snapped.
