Dave Rayner made a 28-yard field goal as time expired in regulation and a 34-yarder in overtime to lift the Detroit Lions to a 23-20 victory Sunday at Tampa Bay, snapping the Lions' streak of 27 consecutive road losses.
It was Detroit's first road win since Oct. 28, 2007, against Chicago.
The Lions (4-10) have won two straight. Last week, they snapped a 19-game losing streak against NFC North opponents with a 7-3 win against Green Bay.
The loss dealt a big blow to Tampa Bay's playoff hopes. The Bucs (8-6) began the day tied with Green Bay and a game behind the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles for the final NFC wild card spot.
Tampa Bay took a 20-17 lead on Connor Barth's 26-yard field goal with 1:39 left, but the defense couldn't get a stop at the end of regulation or on Detroit's first possession in overtime.
The Bucs dropped to 5-1 in games decided by three points or less.
Maurice Morris rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown and Calvin Johnson had 10 catches for 152 yards for the Lions.
LeGarrette Blount rushed for 110 yards and a score and fellow rookie Mike Williams caught six passes for 96 yards and a touchdown for the Bucs.
