Josh Freeman threw two touchdown passes, including a 1-yarder to offensive tackle Donald Penn, to lead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a 21-0 victory over the host San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
The Buccaneers (7-3) held the 49ers to 189 yards of offense and had six sacks. They won at San Francisco for the first time since 1980 and snapped an eight-game losing streak there.
The 49ers (3-7) were last shut out in 2004, at Seattle 34-0. Their last shutout at home came in 1977 against Atlanta 7-0.
Ronde Barber became the first player in NFL history with 40 interceptions and 25 sacks. His interception set up Penn's touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Mike Williams, who was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Friday, had an 8-yard touchdown in the third quarter and Cadillac Williams had a 6-yard TD run in the second quarter.Troy Smith, who was 2-0 since taking over at quarterback from Alex Smith, was 16 of 31 for 148 yards for San Francisco, which finished 0-4 against the NFC South.
