Armani Moore collected 19 points and eight rebounds for Tennessee (15-14, 7-10 SEC), which has won in its last five trips to LSU. Robert Hubbs III contributed 12 points and Kevin Punter added 10 as the Volunteers shot 52.4 percent from the floor.

Keith Hornsby hit five 3-pointers en route to a career-high 25 points for LSU (21-9, 10-7), which had a three-game winning streak halted. Jarell Martin had 16 points and Tim Quarterman added 10 points and seven assists as the Tigers dropped to 13-4 at home.

The Vols broke it open with a 17-2 run that featured 3-pointers from Devon Baulkman, Hubbs and Punter and made it 62-44 with 8 1/2 minutes left. Hornsby and Quarterman hit 3-pointers to pull the Tigers within 11 with just over four minutes left, but they didn't get any closer.

The first half included six lead changes, an 11-0 spurt from each team and some puzzling statistics before ending with a tie at 33. The undersized Volunteers outrebounded the Tigers 22-15, but LSU went 10-for-13 from the foul line while Tennessee did not make a trip to the line.
