No. 16 Iowa 94, Minnesota 73: Aaron White had 18 points, including a 10-of-11 effort from the free-throw line, to lead the Hawkeyes to an easy home win.
Roy Devyn Marble added 16 points — 15 in the second half — for Iowa (15-3, 4-1 Big Ten), while Josh Oglesby added 17 points on 5-of-7 3-pointers. Gabriel Olaseni had 12 points and seven rebounds, while Mike Gesell chipped in 11 points and five assists.
Andre Hollins led Minnesota (14-5, 3-3) finished with 20 points, but only two after halftime. Austin Hollins added 13 points, eight rebounds and five steals for the Golden Gophers, who hit just 5-of-16 from 3-point range.
The game was close throughout the first half, until it looked like Minnesota had taken a bit of control with an 11-0 run in the span of just 1:09 to take a 10-point advantage with 1:13 to play in the half. But Iowa responded with a closing 8-0 run, including two Oglesby 3-pointers, to cut the lead to two by halftime.
Marble had nine points in the first 2:06 of the second half to give the Hawkeyes the lead for good, and Iowa continued to grow the lead behind Marble and White. The Gophers got back to within six with just over seven minutes to play, but White had 12 points in a 20-4 run as Iowa cruised over the final few minutes.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Minnesota's Elliott Eliason had a rare sixth foul, drawing a technical foul after fouling out with 2:30 to play. … Iowa had a big advantage at the free-throw line, hitting 27-of-37 from the charity stripe compared to 16-of-24 for Minnesota. … The Hawkeyes won the board battle, 40-33.
