Sean Kilpatrick scored 27 points and Dion Dixon added 22 as visiting Cincinnati took down No. 11 Georgetown 68-64 on Monday.
The Bearcats (13-4, 3-1 Big East) bounced back from a last-second loss to St. John’s on Saturday. They have won eight of their last nine games.
Georgetown was shooting 77 percent from the floor in the first 14 minutes of the second half but could not pull away to a lead larger than 59-53.
Cincinnati chipped away from there, holding the Hoyas scoreless for more than four minutes and taking the lead 60-59 when Yancy Gates knocked down two free throws with 2:12 on the clock.
Georgetown got back on the board at the free throw line but still could not convert from the field, going 6:29 without a field goal until a layup with two seconds left. The Hoyas had the ball with a chance to tie but freshman Otto Porter stepped on the end line for a turnover with 7.2 seconds remaining.
Dixon sealed it with four free throws in the final 7.1 tics.
Jason Clark and Hollis Thompson scored 14 points apiece for Georgetown (13-3, 3-2), which has dropped back-to-back games.
