Ben Hansbrough and Tim Abromaitis keyed a late first-half surge that helped Notre Dame pull away from Chicago State for a 102-62 victory on Wednesday night.
The game was tied at 26-26 before the Fighting Irish (3-0) embarked on a 22-2 run that made it 48-28 with 3:09 left before halftime. Hansbrough scored eight of his game-high 22 points during the surge, with Abromaitis adding six of his 21.
All five Irish starters scored in double figures. Carleton Scott finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Eric Atkins and Tyrone Nash added 12 and 11 points, respectively. Chicago State was paced by Carl Montgomery and Christian Wall with 14 points each.
