Patrick Maroon scored the tiebreaking goal with 1:38 left in the third period, and the visiting St. Louis Blues regained home-ice advantage with a 4-3 win against the Dallas Stars in Game 3 of their Western Conference semifinal series on Monday night.
Jaden Schwartz and Tyler Bozak each had a goal and an assist, Jay Bouwmeester had two assists, and Alex Pietrangelo scored his first goal of the playoffs for the Blues, who took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series while improving to 4-0 on the road this postseason.
Jordan Binnington made 28 saves for St. Louis.
Alexander Radulov, Andrew Cogliano and Tyler Seguin scored for the Stars, and Ben Bishop made 30 saves.
Maroon scored up high on Bishop from in close at a tough angle to give St. Louis its fourth one-goal lead of the game.
Dallas came back from its third deficit to tie the score at 3-3 on Seguin's goal with 4:08 left in the third period.
Cogliano scored short-handed with 6:54 left in the third to tie the score at 2-2, but Pietrangelo scored 78 seconds later to move St. Louis back in front, 3-2.
Bozak gave St. Louis a 2-1 lead at 8:30 of the second period.
Vince Dunn opened up space by drawing two defenders as he skated through the right circle. He passed the puck back to a trailing Robert Thomas, who took a wrist shot from the faceoff dot. Bishop slowed the shot, but the puck was behind him and sliding toward the goal line when Bozak shoved it across.
Schwartz gave the Blues a 1-0 lead at 1:27 of the first period.
Schwartz started the play by chasing down a dump-in and tapping it back to a trailing Ryan O'Reilly in the corner. O'Reilly passed the puck back to defenseman Colton Parayko at the right point, and his slap shot was deflected into the net by Schwartz, who had moved into the slot closely defended by Taylor Fedun.
The Stars went on their first power play at 15:36 of the first period, and Radulov scored with 24 seconds left on the man advantage to tie the game at 1-1.
With 44 seconds left in the game, Dallas got another power play when Parayko was penalized for delay of game. The goalie was pulled, so the Stars had a six-on-four skater advantage, but they couldn't find an equalizing goal.
