Kings 3, Canucks 2: Justin Williams and Jarret Stoll scored 53 seconds apart late in the third period as Los Angeles rallied to salvage the finale of its three-game trek across Western Canada.
Williams forged a tie with 2:07 remaining by roofing a shot from the right faceoff circle during a power play and Stoll beat Ryan Miller with a slap shot from the left circle to give the Kings their first win in six road games (1-3-2). Dwight King also tallied and Jonathan Quick made 14 saves en route to his third win away from home (3-6-5).
Radim Vrbata recorded a goal and an assist while Alex Burrows also scored for the Canucks, who had their four-game point streak snapped. Miller turned aside 37 shots as Vancouver dropped the opener of its five-game homestand.
Vancouver cashed in on a power-play opportunity in the first period to take the lead. Vrbata's attempted shot from above the left faceoff circle hit Daniel Sedin in front before Burrows poked the puck past Quick at 12:18.
Vrbata doubled the advantage 3:39 into the second when he beat Quick from the slot after Chris Higgins' backhand pass from the bottom of the left circle came right to him after deflecting off a defender's stick. King halved the deficit 11 minutes later as he buried his own rebound from the doorstep after Miller made a brilliant save on his first shot.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Burrows' goal was his ninth of the season and third in four games. ... Los Angeles RW Marian Gaborik had his seven-game point streak come to an end. The Slovakian recorded seven goals and four assists during the run. ... Stoll and Vancouver C Nick Bonino each won 11-of-17 faceoffs.
