Senators 6, Ducks 2: Mike Hoffman scored twice as host Ottawa remained red-hot with a one-sided win over Anaheim.
Kyle Turris and Mika Zibanejad each recorded a goal and an assist, Milan Michalek and Mark Stone also tallied and Craig Anderson turned aside 32 shots for the Senators, who improved to 4-1-1 in their last six games. Captain Erik Karlsson and former Duck Bobby Ryan notched two assists apiece as Ottawa prevailed for just the second time in eight meetings since losing to Anaheim in five games in the 2007 Stanley Cup final.
Captain Ryan Getzlaf netted both goals for the Ducks, who fell for just the second time in 10 games. Ilya Bryzgalov made 25 saves in defeat.
Michalek opened the scoring with a redirection past Bryzgalov during a power play at 2:03 of the first period and Stone doubled the lead at 8:21 by converting the rebound of defenseman Mark Borowiecki's shot. Turris made it 3-0 with the goal of the night at 16:18 of the second, weaving between a trio of Flames while short-handed before flipping a shot past Bryzgalov's glove.
Hoffman struck 41 seconds after Turris' goal, capitalizing on Anaheim blue-liner Colby Robak's turnover and whistling a shot past Bryzgalov. Getzlaf got Anaheim on the board in the final minute of the period and struck again at 1:49 of the third before Hoffman effectively put away the game at 5:40 by converting a slick pass from Ryan.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Ottawa had scored just four goals in its previous four games against the Ducks. ... Hoffman is the first Senator to reach the 10-goal plateau this season. ... Anaheim D Ben Lovejoy registered a pair of assists while Bryzgalov recorded one in his first start of the season.
