Blackhawks 5, Kings 3: Patrick Kane collected two goals and an assist while defenseman Nick Leddy added one of each as Chicago improved to 2-0-2 on its seven-game road trip.

Marcus Kruger scored the go-ahead goal in the second period and Bryan Bickell also tallied for the Blackhawks, who have won five consecutive games and nine of 11 against Los Angeles - including last season's Western Conference final. Captain Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp each notched two assists and Corey Crawford turned aside 31 shots in the win.

Anze Kopitar scored his fourth goal in seven games and added two assists for the Kings, who have dropped four in a row and nine of their last 10 contests (1-8-1). Tyler Toffoli scored a goal and set up another while defenseman Drew Doughty netted a power-play tally in the setback.

With the contest tied at 2-2, Leddy's shot from the point deflected off the sticks of both Kruger and Los Angeles defenseman Matt Greene before fluttering past Jonathan Quick (25 saves) at 13:51 of the second period. Kruger was credited with the goal, but Leddy got one of his own at 7:01 of the third as his blast from the point beat Quick to snap an 18-game drought.

Kane opened the scoring 62 seconds into the contest, breezing in from the right corner before faking Quick to the ice for Chicago's fourth power-play goal in three games. The Conn Smythe Trophy winner converted a 2-on-1 rush midway through the third for his second goal of the contest and 27th of the season to give the Blackhawks a 5-2 lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: After Bickell converted a 3-on-1 rush to give Chicago a 2-0 lead at 8:44 of the first period, Doughty answered 68 seconds later with a sizzling one-timer from the point - becoming the first King other than Kopitar to score a goal since veteran D Robyn Regehr tallied in Columbus on Jan. 21. ... Los Angeles C Jeff Carter recorded two assists after being held off the scoresheet in each of the last three games. ... The Kings held a commanding advantage in hits (36-10) and faceoffs (41-22).
