Geno Smith threw touchdown passes to rookies Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Jake Bobo in the first half and the Seattle Seahawks held on to defeat the visiting Arizona Cardinals 20-10 on Sunday.
Smith completed 18 of 24 passes for 219 yards with an interception and Kenneth Walker III rushed for 105 yards on 26 carries. The Seahawks (4-2) played without star receiver DK Metcalf because of a hip injury, but the rookies came through with four receptions apiece.
Arizona's Joshua Dobbs was 19-of-33 passing for 146 yards. Emari Demercado rushed for 58 yards on 13 attempts and made a team-high four catches.
The Cardinals (1-6) forced three turnovers -- as many as Seattle had in its first five games of the season -- but were only able to turn those into three points.
The Seahawks put the game away on Jason Myers' 48-yard field goal with 2:17 remaining.
Seattle could've closed it out earlier, as it reached the red zone on its first two drives of the second half but came away with just three points.
On the first, they had first-and-goal from the 1-yard line but had to settle for Myers' 21-yard field goal to take a 17-10 lead.
On the second, they reached Arizona's 16 before Smith threw an interception to Garrett Williams at the 1-yard line on third-and-4.
The Seahawks took a 14-10 lead at the half.
Smith-Njigba made his first NFL touchdown reception on a 28-yard pass from Smith to open the scoring.
After Deejay Dallas lost a fumble on a punt return, Arizona's Matt Prater kicked a 44-yard field goal to make it 7-3 after one quarter.
The Cardinals took a 10-7 advantage on Dobbs' 25-yard keeper around the left end after faking a handoff.
The Seahawks regained the lead on Smith's 18-yard TD pass to Bobo, who made a leaping catch against double coverage in the back-right corner of the end zone and tapped his toe inbounds.
Smith-Njigba finished with 63 receiving yards and Bobo, who made the team as an undrafted free agent, gained 61.
Cardinals left tackle D.J. Humphries was ejected in the first half for making contact with an official during a scuffle with Seattle linebacker Jordyn Brooks.
