Forward Zach LeDay had 26 points and 12 rebounds Tuesday night as Virginia Tech routed winless North Carolina A&T 90-60 at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va.
Freshman forward Chris Clarke added 14 points and seven rebounds, and forward Kerry Blackshear and guard Justin Bibbs each scored 12 points for the Hokies (3-1), who made 50 percent of their field-goal attempts and outscored the Aggies 21-2 in fast-break points.
Forward Bruce Beckford scored 14 points for North Carolina A&T (0-6), which canned only 36.4 percent of its field-goal attempts and committed 20 turnovers, leading to 20 points.
The Aggies led for most of the game's first seven minutes, but Virginia Tech took charge with an 18-3 run midway through the first half, establishing a 27-13 advantage when Blackshear sank two foul shots at the 7:58 mark.
The Hokies spent a lot of time at the foul line, attempting 50 free throws and making 34. North Carolina A&T was whistled for 34 fouls, with two players fouling out and two others ending up with four fouls.
It was Virginia Tech's third straight win since a season-opening loss to Alabama State.
