Wake Forest 71, Florida State 46: Travis McKie, C.J. Harris and Codi Miller-McIntyre combined for 43 points - nearly matching the Seminoles' output - as the host Demon Deacons posted their most lopsided win of the season.
McKie scored 15 points while Harris and Miller-McIntyre contributed 14 each as Wake Forest (11-12, 4-7 ACC) snapped a four-game losing streak. Devin Thomas added a team-high eight rebounds, helping the Deacons win the battle of the boards 45-25.
Michael Snaer and Okaro White scored 13 apiece to pace Florida State, which trailed the entire game. The Seminoles (13-10, 5-5) had won the prior four meetings with Wake Forest and were seeking their second consecutive conference road victory.
Interior play made the difference in this game. Wake Forest scored 32 points in the paint and enjoyed a 19-1 advantage on second-chance points.
Leading 34-26 at the break, the Demon Deacons tallied 10 of the first 13 points in the second half to build a 44-29 lead. A 14-0 run by Wake Forest late in the second half opened up a 66-40 advantage with 2:37 left.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Florida State entered Saturday undefeated in ACC play this season when Snaer scored in double digits. ... The Deacons, who came in last in the ACC in field-goal defense (48.8 percent), held the Seminoles to 32.6 percent shooting. ... Florida State also had an off-day at the foul line, shooting 60.9 percent, well below the Seminoles' league-leading 72 percent average.
