No. 20 Nevada-Las Vegas 85, UC Irvine 57: Mike Moser and Anthony Bennett scored 19 points each as the host Rebels led from start to finish.

Moser matched his season high while also grabbing a team-high nine rebounds. Katin Reinhardt scored 13 points for the Rebels (4-1) and Anthony Marshall had a season-high nine assists to go with six points

Daman Starring, a Las Vegas native, scored 18 points and Adam Folker had a season-high 12 for the Anteaters (3-5).

The Rebels scored the game’s first six points and stretched their lead to 34-26 at the half. Moser and Bennett started the second half with baskets to increase the lead to 12 and Irvine never climbed back within eight.

The Anteaters entered the game No. 7 in NCAA Division I in assist-to-turnover ratio but it was UNLV that was better with the ball. The Rebels finished with 22 assists and seven turnovers. Irvine had 10 assists and 15 giveaways.

GAME NOTEBOOK: UNLV and Irvine were meeting for the first time in 15 years. … Anteaters freshman guard Alex Young entered the game leading Division I in assist-to-turnover ratio (10.33) with 31 assists and three turnovers. He finished with two assists and four turnovers. … The Rebels allowed 22 offensive rebounds in their last game against Iowa State, but limited Irvine to nine.
