STANFORD 74, COLORADO 50: Freshman Chasson Randle scored 20 points as the Cardinal led 40-20 at halftime and dominated the boards in handing the Buffaloes their first Pac-12 home loss.
Stanford (19-9, 9-7 Pac-12) outrebounded Colorado 45-23, including 27-12 in the first half, en route to an emphatic season sweep. The Buffaloes’ last home loss by as many as 24 points was to the Cardinal 67-43 on Dec. 2, 2007.
The Cardinal hit nine of their first 15 shots – including 5 of 6 from 3-point range – and went on an 11-0 run to take a 25-8 lead. John Gage scored all 11 of his points and was 3 for 4 from long range in the first half for Stanford. Randle had 10 points before intermission.
Colorado missed its first 15 two-point attempts and finished 6 for 29 from the field and 5 for 12 from the free-throw line in the first half. The Buffaloes finished 16 for 54 from the field and 14 for 30 from the line.
Andre Roberson had nine points and 11 rebounds for Colorado (18-9, 10-5). Roberson was 3 for 11 from the line.
Josh Owens matched a career high with 12 rebounds for the Cardinal, who led by as many as 29 in the second half.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Stanford moved to within 1½ games of Colorado and Oregon for fourth in the Pac-12. The top four teams receive first-round byes in the Pac-12 tournament. … The Cardinal defeated the Buffaloes 84-64 on Jan. 14.
