Pelicans 116, Thunder 113: Anthony Davis capped a 41-point effort with the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer to end a wild stretch run and give visiting New Orleans a win in the second half of a home-and-home set.
Russell Westbrook, who followed up a 45-point effort to lead Oklahoma City to a win at New Orleans on Wednesday with a career-high 48 in this one, made three free throws after being fouled beyond the arc by Quincy Pondexter with 1.2 seconds left to tie it at 113. Davis then took the inbounds pass in the middle of the floor and avoided a soaring Kevin Durant while draining his first 3-pointer of the season to give the Pelicans a 3-1 season series win.
Tyreke Evans had 22 points, a career-high 16 assists and 10 rebounds for his second triple-double with New Orleans and Ryan Anderson had 17 points off the bench for the Pelicans, who have won seven of their last nine. Durant returned from a two-game absence due to a toe injury to score 27 points as the Thunder had a seven-game home winning streak come to an end.
Davis' dunk with 2:10 left gave New Orleans a 107-100 lead but Durant made back-to-back 3-pointers moments later to get the hosts within a point with a minute left. After Durant missed with 2.8 ticks remaining, Davis made two free throws for a 113-110 lead but Pondexter got a piece of Westbrook on a long-range attempt to set up Davis' heroics.
Westbrook scored 20 points in the first half while Durant added 16 as Oklahoma City claimed a 56-53 advantage. Westbrook had six points and two assists in a 13-2 run that put the Thunder up 76-64 midway through the third quarter, but the Pelicans had the final nine points of the stanza - four by Davis - to take an 83-81 lead.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Westbrook is the first player in the NBA this season to score at least 40 points in consecutive games. ... After Westbrook's basket with 4:40 left forged a 98-98 tie, the Oklahoma City bench was given a technical foul for rushing the floor to celebrate, thinking that New Orleans had called a timeout. ... Westbrook also had 11 assists, nine rebounds and four steals.
