Heat 99, Wizards 90: LeBron James collected 23 points, eight assists and seven rebounds as host Miami pulled away late to snap a three-game slide.

James was 10-of-15 from the floor and made 3-of-4 3-pointers while going without a foul shot for the second straight day after playing 332 straight games with at least one. Dwyane Wade scored 13 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter and Chris Bosh also had 22 points for the Heat, who moved within a game of idle Indiana in the race for first place in the Eastern Conference.

Bradley Beal led Washington with 18 points while Marcin Gortat finished with 14 points and 18 rebounds. Martell Webster scored 17 points and fellow reserve Drew Gooden chipped in 15 as the Wizards fell for just the second time in 10 games.

Wade's 20-footer capped a 6-0 burst to begin the fourth and gave Miami a 79-73 lead before Washington rallied behind six points from Gooden to grab an 84-83 advantage midway through the quarter. Wade responded with a three-point play, Bosh scored five straight points and James and Wade had back-to-back layups in a decisive 12-0 run that lasted just over two minutes and allowed the Heat to coast down the stretch.

Ray Allen hit a pair of 3-pointers late in the first quarter to help Miami take a 31-23 lead into the second and Bosh made one near the end of the first half as the Heat maintained an eight-point advantage at the break. It was a seven-point margin before Beal scored to spark an 11-0 run that gave Washington its first lead late in the third quarter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wizards SF Trevor Ariza was 1-for-7 from 3-point distance after going 28-for-41 in his previous six games. ... Washington had a 50-33 advantage on the glass but lost the turnover battle 19-10. ... Allen chipped in 13 points off the bench while starter Mario Chalmers was 0-of-7 from the floor in going scoreless for the first time since Jan. 27, 2013.
