Wizards 96, Thunder 81: John Wall collected 17 points and 15 assists as host Washington halted Oklahoma City's 10-game winning streak.
Wall added a season high-tying six steals for the Wizards, who prevailed in the opener of a five-game homestand. Trevor Ariza led the way with 18 points while Nene had 17 and Marcin Gortat added 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Kevin Durant had 26 points but struggled mightily for the Thunder on the second night of a back-to-back. Durant went just 8-for-21 from the field while missing all six of his 3-point attempts; Oklahoma City shot 39.7 percent from the floor as a team.
Washington went up by as many as 14 on Trevor Booker's layup to open the second quarter, but the Thunder stormed back in the latter half of the period. Serge Ibaka and Durant connected on back-to-back possessions to reduce the deficit to single digits, and a Durant jam off a Reggie Jackson feed capped a 14-0 run that helped Oklahoma City go into the break down 42-38.
The Wizards regained control in a dominant third quarter, as Wall racked up 15 points - the last two coming on a buzzer-beating six-footer - en route to a 78-64 advantage entering the fourth. Ariza buried a 3-pointer early in the final quarter to extend the lead to 15, and the weary Thunder wouldn't get close the rest of the way.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Ibaka hit his first shot attempt of the night - making it 13 straight field goals dating back to Friday - but missed a 3-point try with 4:22 remaining in the first quarter. ... Durant has failed to crack the 30-point plateau in two straight games since racking up 30 or more in 12 straight. ... Jackson had eight of his team's 21 turnovers.
