Bobcats 100, Raptors 95: Al Jefferson erupted for 22 points, 19 rebounds and seven assists as host Charlotte held on to beat Toronto.
Jefferson's effort prevented the Bobcats from squandering a 30-point second-half lead en route to their third win over the Raptors this season. Ramon Sessions added 23 points in place of the injured Kemba Walker while Gerald Henderson had 16.
DeMar DeRozan's 25 points paced Toronto, which fell back to the .500 mark with its third loss in four games. Kyle Lowry added 21 points while Greivis Vasquez chipped in with 15 points, nine assists and seven rebounds off the bench.
The Bobcats jumped out to a 26-11 lead on Jefferson's 10-point, 10-rebound opening quarter and a defense that limited Toronto to 5-of-20 shooting from the field. Back-to-back 3-pointers from Josh McRoberts and Jannero Pargo and a Michael Kidd-Gilchrist driving layup stretched the advantage to 20, and the Bobcats closed with eight straight free throws in the final two minutes to take a 55-36 edge into the break.
It was more of the same in the third quarter, as a McRoberts 3-pointer and a Jefferson running layup highlighted a 12-0 run that allowed Charlotte to go up 71-41. Trailing by 18 entering the fourth, Toronto stormed back in the final quarter - Lowry's jumper with 25 seconds left capping a 16-4 run that made it a one-point game - but Lowry missed the game-tying free throw and Vasquez misfired on a 3-point try with 14 seconds left, allowing Charlotte to put the game away at the line.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Toronto's 11 first-quarter points were a season low. ... Walker (sprained ankle) missed the first game of his NBA career. The 2011 first-round pick had played in 190 straight coming into the day. ... Charlotte had a season-low two offensive rebounds.
