Mavericks 108, Nuggets 105 (OT): Vince Carter collected 22 points and 12 rebounds and Dirk Nowitzki added 22 and 10 boards as Dallas denied visiting Denver's bid for a franchise-record 55th victory.
O.J. Mayo contributed 20 points and Shawn Marion scored 15 for the Mavericks, who outscored the Nuggets 9-6 in overtime. Darren Collison made two free throws with 1.9 seconds left to give Dallas a three-point margin, and Andre Iguodala missed a desperation 3-point attempt at the buzzer.
Iguodala, Corey Brewer and Wilson Chandler each scored 18 points for the Nuggets, who had a five-game winning streak snapped and slipped into a tie with Memphis for third place in the Western Conference. Denver holds the tiebreaker over the Grizzlies.
The Nuggets shot 51.3 percent in the first half and took a 55-48 lead into the break after Iguodala's 3-pointer with 31 seconds left. Denver's advantage was as large as 11 early in the third before the Mavericks reeled off a 17-2 run to take the lead.
Denver clawed back within one heading to the fourth and regained the lead on Ty Lawson's bucket to open the final period. There were four lead changes and six ties in the fourth quarter, culminating with Brewer's layup with 3.9 seconds left to force overtime.
