Grizzlies 91, Trail Blazers 85: Marc Gasol led the way with 23 points and 12 rebounds as Memphis came alive in the second half and took down visiting Portland.

Mike Conley added 20 points and six assists and Jerryd Bayless scored 13 points off the bench for the Grizzlies, who were without All-Star forward Zach Randolph due to an ankle injury.

Damian Lillard scored 20 points and J.J. Hickson recorded 12 points and 13 rebounds as the Trail Blazers lost their seventh straight road game.

Portland shot 55.3 percent in the first half against Memphis’ conference-best defense to go into the locker room with a 50-38 lead, but it could not keep up that pace after the break. The Grizzlies trailed by as much as 63-46 in the third before closing the period with a 19-4 burst to make it a one-possession game heading into the fourth.

The Blazers held a six-point advantage with 6:31 remaining but did not score over the next five minutes as Memphis pulled ahead, taking the lead on Tayshaun Prince’s jumper with four minutes to play. Gasol made it 85-82 with a short jumper and the Grizzlies clinched it at the free-throw line.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Memphis F Ed Davis, who was acquired as part of the deal that sent Rudy Gay to Toronto, got the start in Randolph’s spot and collected three points and six rebounds in 25 minutes.
