Mavericks 119, Kings 96: O.J. Mayo led the way with 19 points and seven rebounds as host Dallas easily handled Sacramento.
Chris Kaman added 18 points on 9-for-13 shooting from the field and Darren Collison went 7-for-9 en route to 15 points for the Mavericks, who have won 17 straight home games over the Kings during the regular season.
Francisco Garcia went 7-of-12 from 3-point range and finished with 25 points. DeMarcus Cousins collected 25 and six rebounds for Sacramento, which had its season-high three-game winning streak come to an end.
Dallas bridged the first and second quarters with a 21-1 burst to take control. The Kings went the first 5:51 of the second without scoring and would not make a field goal in the period until Jason Thompson’s short jumper with 3:32 remaining sliced the deficit to 58-33.
The Mavericks held off a brief rally in the third quarter, never letting the lead slip to single digits. Mayo’s 3-pointer late in the third made it 88-70 heading into the fourth and Dallas coasted to the finish.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Sacramento earned its first road win at Portland on Saturday and had held its previous two opponents to an average of 81 points. … Kings G Tyreke Evans sat out for the fifth time in the last six games with a bruised right knee. … The Mavericks shot 55.2 percent from the floor and forced 19 turnovers on the other end.
