Nuggets 99, Spurs 94: Ty Lawson controlled the game with 22 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds as visiting Denver pulled out its third straight win and handed San Antonio a rare home loss.

Tim Duncan got the Spurs within 95-94 on a dunk with 29.9 seconds left, but Lawson responded. The rapidly-emerging point guard worked to the top of the key and buried a 20-foot jumper with 11.9 seconds on the clock to keep the Nuggets clear.

Gary Neal missed a 3-pointer at the other end and Lawson hit two free throws to seal the victory.

Lawson, who had 22 points and 15 assists in a win at Houston on Friday, has recorded 35 assists and three turnovers in his last three games.

Denver got hot from beyond the arc early in the fourth quarter, using the 3-pointer to fend off a pair of San Antonio rallies.

The Spurs pulled to within 78-76 with 10:25, only to have Lawson nail a 3-pointer. Kawhi Leonard made it a one-possession game just under three minutes later and Arron Afflalo answered from beyond the arc.

San Antonio would keep it within six points the rest of the way but never managed to get over the hump.

Tony Parker scored 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting to lead the Spurs.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Spurs fell to 14-3 at the AT&T Center. … San Antonio G Manu Ginobili returned to the lineup following a five-game absence and scored eight points in 24 minutes. … The Nuggets were once again without Rudy Fernandez (back), Danilo Gallinari (foot) and Nene (calf), though all three could be back as soon as Monday.
