Luis Scola fought through a knee injury to score 21 points and Kyle Lowry added 21 and 11 assists as the Houston Rockets climbed back to .500 with a 103-87 victory over the host Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, their fifth straight win.
Questionable to play, Scola made 10-of-11 shots and grabbed six rebounds. Lowry collected his second double-double this season as the Rockets (31-31) won their sixth consecutive road contest. Houston doubled up Portland in paint points, 52-26.
Houston's Kevin Martin scored 20 points, ending his string of three 30-point games.
Nicolas Batum scored 22 points and reserve Gerald Wallace had 14 and 10 rebounds in his second game for the Trail Blazers, who concluded a miserable 1-3 homestand that followed a season-high six-game winning streak.
This is the third time the Rockets have reached .500 this season, but they have yet to have a winning record. That can change with Wednesday’s road game vs. the Los Angeles Clippers.
