Carmelo Anthony scored 23 points and Nene collected 21 and nine rebounds as the visiting Denver Nuggets coasted to a 120-109 victory over the Washington Wizards on Tuesday.
Al Harrington made 6-of-8 3-pointers and scored 21 points off the bench for the Nuggets, who began a five-game Eastern Conference road trip.
Denver took it to Washington early, using a 17-2 run through the middle of the first quarter to open a 24-10 lead. Chauncey Billups scored 10 points during the spurt and 12 in the first quarter as the Nuggets established control.
Denver led by seven points at the end of the first and pushed it to 68-56 at the half.
Washington did not get closer than nine points in the third quarter and fell behind by as many as 18 at the beginning of the final period when Harrington started to connect from long range. He sank four 3-pointers in the final frame as Denver cruised to the finish.
Andray Blatche recorded 25 points and nine rebounds for the Wizards, who had won five of their previous six at the Verizon Center.
