Thaddeus Young led an outstanding bench performance with 24 points and Elton Brand added 22 and nine rebounds as the host Philadelphia 76ers topped the Phoenix Suns, 105-95, completing their first season series sweep in nine years.
Rookie Evan Turner had 14 points, eight rebounds and five assists and fellow reserve Lou Williams had 12 points and six assists for the 76ers, who have won two straight and improved to 16-12 since a 3-13 start.
Young, Williams and Turner combined for 22 points in the second quarter as Philadelphia shot 14-of-21 and stretched a 26-25 first-quarter lead to 61-47 at the half. Young scored 10 points during a 16-6 closing run, scoring three consecutive 76ers hoops on two short jumpers from the left corner and laying in a nice alley-oop feed from Williams.
The trio totaled 32 points and 12 assists in the opening 24 minutes and the bench finished with 58 points on 25-of-42 shooting and 19 assists. Young shot 11-of-17 and added seven boards and five assists.
Phoenix scored the first five points of the second half before Philadelphia went on a 10-1 run to build a 71-53 lead. The burly Brand dropped a trio of jumpers during the spurt.
The Sixers pushed the margin to 22 points after a late third-quarter three-point play by Brand and coasted in the fourth quarter.
Jared Dudley scored 23 points off the bench and Steve Nash added 17 and nine assists for the Suns, who ended a promising five-game road trip by dropping its last two.
