Boston (37-11) completed a 3-1 West Coast trip with its eighth straight win over Sacramento (12-34). The Celtics allowed just 36 points in the second half and denied the Kings their first three-game winning streak of the season.
The win clinched the Eastern Conference All-Star coaching berth for Boston's Doc Rivers
Sacramento, which had beaten the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans in its last two games, outscored Boston, 34-18, in the second quarter to grab a 54-45 halftime lead.
The Celtics used their defense to get back in the game in the third quarter and led 74-71 going to the final period.
Leading 78-77 with 8:34 to play, Boston used a 9-0 run to take control. Nate Robinson made a layup, Allen hit a 3-pointer that beat the shot clock, Kevin Garnett hit a jumper and Glen Davis dunked on a fast break for a 10-point lead with 5:48 remaining.
The Kings closed to 91-85 before Paul Pierce's jumper with 37 seconds left put away the game.
Pierce scored 15 points and Garnett and Davis added 12 apiece for the Celtics, who forced 23 turnovers.
Rookie DeMarcus Cousins and Tyreke Evans scored 20 points apiece for the Kings. Earlier Tuesday, both were selected for the Rookie-Sophomore Challenge at All-Star Weekend.
