Bryce Harper added a solo homer as Andrew McCutchen and Odubel Herrera each contributed two hits for the Phillies, who snapped a four-game losing streak. Odubel Herrera also had two RBIs.

The Phillies (72-70) began the night 4 1/2 games behind the Atlanta Braves for first place in the National League East.

Phillies starter Zack Wheeler tossed 6 2/3 innings and allowed four hits and one run with eight strikeouts and two walks. Wheeler (13-9) also recorded his 1,000th career strikeout.

Trevor Story hit a solo home run and Ryan McMahon had two hits for the Rockies (65-78).

Rockies starter Kyle Freeland gave up five hits and four runs in six innings. Freeland (5-8) walked four and struck out three.

The game remained scoreless through the first three innings as the Rockies had three hits and the Phillies one. Colorado started the third with a pair of singles by the pitcher Freeland and Charlie Blackmon, but Wheeler escaped unharmed.

In the fourth, the Phillies loaded the bases with no outs on a Segura single and walks to Harper and McCutchen. J.T. Realmuto struck out swinging on a curve ball before Didi Gregorius walked for a 1-0 lead. Ronald Torreyes popped out in foul ground, but Herrera bunted for a double down the third base line past Story for a 3-0 advantage.

Colorado's Raimel Tapia opened the fifth by reaching second on a fielding error by Gregorius. Dom Nunez then lined out to Segura and Tapia was doubled off to end the threat.

Segura laced a one-out solo homer, his 12th of the season, in the bottom of the fifth for a 4-0 lead.

The Rockies closed within 4-1 in the sixth when Story crushed a solo homer, his 21st, into the second deck in left.

Colorado placed runners on first and second with no outs in the seventh. Tapia and Nunez each struck out, with Tapia getting tossed after arguing with the home-plate umpire. Rio Ruiz walked to load the bases. Wheeler was replaced by Jose Alvarado and Blackmon grounded out to end the inning.

Philadelphia went ahead 5-1 in the seventh when Miller hit a pinch hit solo homer to right for his 18th of the year. The lead increased to 6-1 when Harper launched his 31st homer two batters later.
