Jose Ramirez homered and had three RBIs, and the surging Cleveland Indians held on to win 8-7 Wednesday night to extend the Baltimore Orioles' franchise-record road losing streak to 18 games.

Ramirez clubbed his 15th homer in the first and delivered a two-run single during a five-run third for the Indians, who have won the first three of this four-game set -- and seven of eight at home.

Eddie Rosario and Bradley Zimmer also had two hits apiece while Cesar Hernandez came through with a key two-run triple in the sixth.

Ryan Mountcastle homered for one of his three hits and posted four RBIs for Baltimore, which has dropped seven straight overall. Trey Mancini also had three hits and three runs scored for the Orioles, whose last road win came on May 5, when John Means no-hit the Seattle Mariners.

Four batters into the game, however, Baltimore had a 2-0 lead against Indians starter Aaron Civale (10-2). Cedric Mullins led off with a double down the right-field line. Mancini then singled before Freddy Galvis (two hits) and Mountcastle delivered back-to-back RBI singles.

The Indians cut the deficit in half on Ramirez's homer. Mancini, though, doubled in the third and came home on another Mountcastle run-scoring single for a 3-1 Baltimore lead.

But in the third, Cleveland's first six batters reached off Orioles starter Keegan Akin (0-2). Ramirez singled home two of the runs, and ended up at third on the play after Baltimore botched a rundown. Amed Rosario, Harold Ramirez (double) and Eddie Rosario (double) each posted run-scoring hits in the frame.

Mountcastle's two-run homer in the fifth made it a 6-5 game, but Hernandez's triple gave Cleveland back some breathing room. Despite allowing five runs and nine hits over a season-low five innings, Civale took the outright major-league lead in wins.

Baltimore once again made it a one-run contest through RBIs singles by Austin Hays and Maikel Franco in the seventh off Bryan Shaw, one of the majors' top relievers. The Orioles, however, went down in order against James Karinchak in the eighth and ninth versus Emmanuel Clase (11th save).

Akin yielded eight runs, eight hits, walked three and struck out seven over 5 2/3 innings.
