Xander Bogaerts homered and drove in two runs, Danny Santana also homered and the Boston Red Sox defeated the host Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 on Saturday.

The Red Sox have won four in a row and can sweep the weekend series on Sunday.

Red Sox starter Nathan Eovaldi (5-2) tossed 5 1/3 innings and allowed five hits and two runs with four strikeouts and two walks.

Matt Barnes earned his 11th save in 12 opportunities despite a shaky ninth inning. Barnes struck out Rhys Hoskins swinging to end the game with runners on first and third.

Hoskins homered and knocked in two runs and Brad Miller added two hits for the struggling Phillies, who have lost four straight.

Spencer Howard lasted only three-plus innings in his first start of the season for the Phillies. Howard (0-1) gave up one hit and two runs while striking out five and walking four.

Howard walked two batters in the third inning and Rafael Devers responded with an RBI double to right, which just eluded Bryce Harper's diving effort. Bogaerts added a sacrifice fly to left for a 2-0 Red Sox advantage.

Miller tripled with one out in the fourth and closed the gap to 2-1 when Odubel Herrera lofted a sacrifice fly to center.

In the sixth, Bogaerts and Santana ripped back-to-back solo home runs off Sam Coonrod for a 4-1 lead. It was Coonrod's first runs allowed at home all season.

The Red Sox have hit back-to-back home runs four times this season.

Hoskins hit a solo homer -- the 100th of his career -- with one out in the sixth to close the Phillies within 4-2. Eovaldi hadn't allowed a home run all season before Hoskins connected.

The Phillies loaded the bases with one out in the seventh and Harper struck out looking against Darwinzon Hernandez. Hoskins was then hit by a pitch and the deficit was cut to 4-3. Miller struck out swinging to end the inning.
