Seahawks 36, Packers 16: Marshawn Lynch rushed for 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns and host Seattle opened defense of its Super Bowl title by thrashing Green Bay.

Russell Wilson threw for 191 yards and connected on a pair of scoring passes to Ricardo Lockette and Derrick Coleman as the Seahawks (1-0) improved to 16-1 in their last 17 games at CenturyLink Field. Percy Harvin, limited to one game in the regular season in 2013, had seven catches for 59 yards and added 41 yards on four carries as Seattle piled up 207 yards rushing.

Aaron Rodgers finished 23-of-33 for 189 yards with a touchdown and an interception for the Packers (0-1), who saw the Seahawks pull away with 19 unanswered points spanning halftime. Jordy Nelson had nine catches for 83 yards and Randall Cobb added six receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown.

Green Bay fullback John Kuhn plowed in from 2 yards out following a muffed punt by Earl Thomas for a 7-3 lead with 1:25 left in the first quarter, but Seattle responded with an 80-yard drive capped by a 33-yard scoring pass to Lockette in the left flat following a great play-fake by Wilson. After a 23-yard field goal by Mason Crosby, Lynch finished off a six-play, 70-yard drive by going untouched 9 yards up the middle for a 17-10 halftime edge.

Steven Hauschka's second field goal, a 20-yarder, extended the lead to 10 points 4 1/2 minutes into the third quarter before the Seahawks' defense took control, getting a sack by Cliff Avril on a fourth-and-5 before Michael Bennett stripped Rodgers to force a safety. Seattle took the ensuing kickoff and marched 53 yards in nine plays before Lynch scored from 3 yards out on the first play of the fourth quarter for a 29-10 edge.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Lynch has rushed for 43 touchdowns in 60 games since he was traded to Seattle early in the 2010 season, tying Minnesota's Adrian Peterson for the most in the league during that span. ... Packers RB Eddie Lacy was limited to 34 yards on 12 carries before he was involved in a jarring collision with Kam Chancellor early in the fourth. Coach Mike McCarthy confirmed after the game that Lacy sustained a concussion. ... Packers RT Bryan Bulaga left the game early in the second quarter and did not return after hurting the surgically repaired left knee that caused him to miss the entire 2013 season. His replacement, Derek Sherrod, was beaten for both the sack and the safety in the third quarter.
