Braves 2, Dodgers 1: Kris Medlen pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings and belted his first career home run as visiting Atlanta halted a brief two-game skid.
Dan Uggla also went deep for the Braves, who dropped the first two contests of the four-game series following a five-game winning streak.
Medlen (3-6) limited Los Angeles to four singles and a double as he posted his second consecutive scoreless outing. The right-hander, who walked one and struck out six, tossed seven strong innings against Pittsburgh on Monday to halt his personal five-game losing streak. Craig Kimbrel worked around a leadoff single in the ninth for his 18th save.
Uggla led off the fifth inning with his 11th homer, belting an 0-2 pitch from Stephen Fife (1-1) over the left-center field wall. Two batters later, Medlen launched a shot into the seats in right for his third hit of the season and a 2-0 lead.
Pinch-hitter Hanley Ramirez drove in the lone run with a single and Skip Schumaker collected three of the eight hits by the Dodgers, who are 4-2 on their 10-game homestand.
