Donovan Mitchell, who struggled with his shot through much of the game, sank the winning basket with seven seconds left, lifting the Utah Jazz to a 110-109 road win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday.
Mitchell was just 3 of 15 from the floor until his pullup jumper with less than six minutes remaining got him going. Mitchell hit 5 of 8 down the stretch, scoring the Jazz's final 12 points, including the decisive floater over Oklahoma City's Luguentz Dort.
Bojan Bogdanovic scored 23 points to lead Utah. Mitchell and Mike Conley finished with 20 points each, with Conley adding 10 rebounds and nine assists. Rudy Gobert contributed 12 points and 10 boards.
Dort finished with 26 points, his career high for a regular-season game. Dort, who had never scored more than 15 in a home game, scored 30 points in Game 7 of the Thunder's first-round playoff loss to the Houston Rockets last season.
The second-year forward was 9 of 11 from the floor and 5 of 7 from behind the 3-point arc Monday.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 23 points for Oklahoma City but hit just 1 of 7 from beyond the arc.
The Thunder couldn't pull off its second consecutive last-possession win. On Saturday at Charlotte, Gilgeous-Alexander sank a game-winner with 1.4 seconds left.
First-year Thunder coach Mark Daigneault once again put the ball in Gilgeous-Alexander's hands, but the Canadian's driving layup at the buzzer bounced off the front of the rim, giving the Jazz the win.
The Thunder led by nine with less than 10 minutes remaining before the Jazz pulled level with a 14-5 run, ending with Mitchell's first fourth-quarter basket.
The game was the first at Chesapeake Energy Arena since March 11, when Gobert tested positive for COVID-19, canceling that game and sending the NBA -- and other sports leagues -- into a months-long hiatus.
The Thunder started off hot from behind the arc, making four 3-pointers -- two by Al Horford -- in the first four minutes.
The threes helped Oklahoma City build a double-digit lead before the Jazz started heating up offensively. The Thunder hit 10 first-half 3-pointers.
Conley helped keep Utah in the game early with eight first-quarter points.
