Kings 135, Knicks 129 (OT):
DeMarcus Cousins scored a season-high 39 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Sacramento pulled off the win against visiting New York.

Rudy Gay added 29 points and Darren Collison finished with a season-high 27 points and 10 assists for the Kings, who shot 55.1 percent from the floor. Nik Stauskas led the reserves with 11 points and Ray McCallum scored another 10 off the bench for Sacramento.

Carmelo Anthony finished with 36 points, 11 rebounds and six assists to lead the Knicks. Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 19 points and Cole Aldrich finished with a career-high 18 points, but fouled out 11 seconds into overtime for the Knicks, who played without second-leading scorer and top rebounder Amar’e Stoudemire (sore knee).

The Knicks took their first lead of the game at 124-122 on a steal and layup by Shane Larkin with 2:55 left in overtime, but Collison would break a tie with a 3-pointer and Cousins, who sat out Friday’s loss against the Phoenix Suns with an illness, split a double team and dunked with 52 seconds on the clock to extend the lead to five. McCallum capped the 11-0 run with a layup to push the lead to 135-126 with 14 seconds left.

Aldrich converted a three-point play with 38 seconds left in regulation to pull the Knicks within two and Sacramento turned the ball over on the other end, leading to a fast-break layup by Hardaway that tied the score at 117. Anthony stripped Gay of the ball as he drove for a game-winning basket and Gay then blocked Anthony’s 3-point heave at the buzzer, sending the game into overtime.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Kings shot 64.9 percent from the floor in the first half and Cousins made a first 3-pointer in that span, his first since March 2013. … The Knicks, who continue their three-game road trip at the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday, are 0-8 on the front end of back-to-backs this season. … Aldrich, a fifth-year forward and 11th overall pick by New Orleans in 2010, recorded his previous career high of 13 points on three occasions.
