Lakers 119, Cavaliers 108: Jordan Farmar returned from a 16-game absence and recorded 21 points and eight assists while Steve Blake posted a triple-double as visiting Los Angeles built up a big early lead and held off Cleveland.

Rookie Ryan Kelly scored a season-high 26 points and Wesley Johnson added 20 points and nine rebounds for the Lakers, who snapped a seven-game slide. Blake, who returned from an elbow injury on Tuesday, handed out 15 assists to go along with 11 points and 10 boards for Los Angeles, which was without Jordan Hill (head), Pau Gasol (groin), Steve Nash (back) and Jodie Meeks (ankle).

C.J. Miles scored 27 points off the bench to lead the Cavaliers, who dropped their sixth straight contest. Anderson Varejao collected 15 points and 13 rebounds while Luol Deng was held to three points on 1-of-10 shooting for Cleveland.

The Lakers came out on fire and connected on six straight field-goal attempts, including five from beyond the arc, to grab a 19-11 lead midway through the first quarter en route to a 36-17 cushion after the opening 12 minutes. The 3-point barrage continued in the second quarter when Kendall Marshall hit one and Farmar followed with two more on three straight possessions to make it 45-19, and Los Angeles took a 70-49 advantage into the break.

The lead swelled to 28 points early in the third before the Cavaliers’ bench began to cut into the deficit, chopping it to 98-80 after closing the period with a 12-2 burst. Cleveland drew within 114-108 on Anthony Bennett’s free throws with 1:16 to play before Blake buried a 3-pointer and the Lakers closed it out at the line.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hill and Meeks, both of whom were injured in Tuesday’s loss at Minnesota, remain day-to-day while Nash was rested as a precaution and Gasol is out for at least the remainder of the road trip. … The Lakers have allowed at least 100 points in 16 straight games. … The Cavaliers went 1-of-18 from 3-point range in the first half and finished 5-of-33 from beyond the arc while Los Angeles connected on 18-of-37 from 3-point range to set a franchise record for 3-pointers made in regulation.
